Paris!

I've arrived! Currently sitting in the hotel/hostel lobby. Things are crazy. But here's a quick summary of the adventures so far.

Boston to JFK: JetBlue "misplaced" my luggage for 2 hours ish. NBD (Em, NBigD). Although I had flashbacks to France '07 where I was luggage-less for half of the trip.

JFK: Had a pretty sweet panini in the airport. Hung out and read the book Em gave me: Eat, Pray, Love.

JFK to Paris: Flew on an Airbus 380...a double decker and the largest airplane in the world. EPIC. Sat next to a French couple who were coming back from visiting the U.S. for the first time to spend New Year's in NYC. Watched My Sister's Keeper, had some pretty good airplane food (got the beef and champagne, Doug). My greatest memory was watching the sunrise over Europe as we approached Europe via a camera mounted on the top wing of the airplane. Pretty amazing experience.

The past two days has been a crazy mess of stuff, so sorry for the randomness and lack of explanation, detail, or thought.

Started the trip out with a river cruise on the Seine. Yes it's touristy and lame, but it's always my favorite thing to do in Paris. Spent the majority of the ride freaking out with Alexis when we saw the Eiffel Tower.

Came back to the hotel, showered, had dinner and an introduction to our seminar course, The European Identity.

Slept like a baby. Woke up today and we headed off to The Pantheon, previously a church and now home to the remains of Rousseau, Voltaire, Madame Curie, and Victor Hugo. It was surreal.

Went to a pretty neat restaurant at the Mosqee de Paris for couscous and then headed to the Immigration Museum. Not my fav...actually, hated it. But, whatever.

ANYWAY, sorry for the lame blog. This 11-day seminar is just a crazy packed schedule. I'll have more detailed posts in the future!
